The Parore (Girella tricuspidata), commonly known as Luderick, is a coastal marine fish native to the waters of Oceania and Asia. Known for its herbivorous diet, it primarily grazes on algae and seagrass in estuaries, rocky reefs, and mangrove areas. This species reaches an average length of 30–40cm and can grow up to 70cm. Typically weighing 0.8–1.5kg, larger specimens can reach 4kg. Parore are well-adapted to saltwater and brackish environments, making them a sought-after species for recreational anglers.
