The Samson Fish (Seriola hippos) is a robust, fast-swimming predator native to Australian waters. It inhabits inshore oceanic environments, often around reefs, jetties, wrecks, coastal areas, and deepwater zones. Recognisable by its silvery body with a greyish-green to bronze sheen, this species is highly prized among anglers for its formidable strength and fighting ability when hooked. An opportunistic predator, it preys on smaller fish, squid, and other marine organisms.
