The Spangled Emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus) is a species of marine fish belonging to the family Lethrinidae. It is commonly found in the Indo-West Pacific region, inhabiting various environments such as coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangrove swamps, and sandy substrates. As a bottom-feeding carnivore, it primarily feeds on crustaceans, mollusks, and fish within the reef system. The Spangled Emperor typically grows to an average length of 40–60 cm (1.3–2 ft), with a maximum length of 87 cm (34 in). It is considered a superior table fish, especially when baked whole, and is extremely popular throughout the Indo-West Pacific region.
