The Spotted Bass (Micropterus punctulatus) is a North American freshwater fish known for its distinctive rows of dark spots below the lateral line. Preferring cool and warm mountain streams and reservoirs with rocky bottoms, it feeds on insects, crustaceans, frogs, worms, and smaller fish. Often mistaken for the largemouth bass, it can be distinguished by its smaller mouth size. Spotted bass can reach lengths up to 64 cm and weights up to 5.2 kg.
