The Atlantic Tripletail (Lobotes surinamensis) is a distinctive fish recognised by its rounded dorsal and anal fins, which, along with its caudal fin, give the appearance of three tails. It inhabits warm coastal and offshore waters, often near floating debris or structures. This species exhibits a unique behaviour of floating on its side, resembling a drifting object, possibly as a hunting strategy. Tripletails are opportunistic feeders, preying on small fish and invertebrates. They are highly regarded by anglers for their challenging catch and flavourful flesh.
